Bare with me, this bottle top is a great example of the difference a little bit of thoughtful design can make to your enjoyment of a condiment.
So the style of the sriracha bottle top isn't exclusive to this specific condiment and appears on a lot of bottles of condiments used in east asian cooking.
The bottle cap works a bit like a sports bottle lid. In this case you twist the top section to unscrew it and open the small hole at the top of the bottle, this allows sauce to flow through the hole when the bottle is up ended and squeezed.
What I love about this is that you don't need to unscrew the whole lid, like more modern ketchup and mayonnaise bottles you can just squeeze the bottle to pour the chosen condiment at a manageable flow rate.
The reason this is especially a good idea on a sriracha bottle is because it is a hot sauce so you don't necessarily want a lot of it on whatever you are eating. With these bottles you have achieve an aesthetic drizzle on any dish with the freedom to add as much hot sauce as desired. It also works great while cooking because you can easily add sauce with one hand.
For an example of a bad hot sauce bottle imagine one of the old glass ketchup bottles with the screw lid which are useless in my opinion. First you have to unscrew the lid which can be difficult for some people seen as there is no texture on them to help grip it. Then you have to, very aggressively, fling a blob of ketchup on your dish with very little control of how much comes out and where it's going on your plate. With a hot sauce this causes real issues and can ruin your dinner!
Sriracha has become my favourite condiment not only because of its taste and what it adds to a dish, but also the user experience and bottle design which make it a pleasure to use.
